Touch activated reading lamps are great. Except without any real switch you have to rummage around trying to figure out how to turn it on. And that it has four modes: suitably dim, too bright, the Sun is jealous, off (consider that sequence when wanting to turn it off and you have a sleeping partner beside you). Oh, and the fact that some probable software bug means it just randomly turns on when it feels like it, without touching.
So basically they’re not great in any way whatsoever.
Oh and did I tell you that they can also be turned on by a cat nosing around? That’s another great feature that.
