Chris Hosey, the director of the #Georgia Bureau of Investigation [#GBI], said the charges stem from Gray “knowingly allowing” his son to possess a weapon.

Gray is in custody & the charges are “directly connected with the actions of his son & allowing him to possess a weapon,” Hosey said.

Records from an eviction the previous year show that #ColinGray owned several weapons, including an #AR15, the type of firearm that ofcls say was used in the #SchoolShooting on Wed morning at #ApalacheeHighSchool in #Winder, #Georgia.

Mr. Gray said he wanted to get his son, Colt, now 14, interested in the outdoors, & away from video games…. The son, then 13, had recently shot his first deer, & his father kept a photo on his phone of the animal’s blood smeared on the boy’s cheeks…

The father of the teenager accused of #Georgia’s deadliest #SchoolShooting told investigators looking into an online threat last year that he had been teaching his son about #guns & hunting, & that the boy claimed that his account had been hacked.
“I’m going to be mad as hell if he did” make threats about a school shooting, said the father, #ColinGray, acc/to a transcript of the May 2023 interview….”Then all the guns will go away,” he added.

The unanimous 5th Circuit panel found that Rahimi was among those whose right to a weapon is protected by the #SecondAmendment.

#Republicans largely oppose stricter #GunLaws, saying the right to bear arms is established in the #UnitedStates Constitution's #SecondAmendment. That stance has remained fixed even in the face of a steady stream of #MassShootings that have led to calls from many #Democrats to impose more controls on #guns.

I think it's hard for folks to see how other countries handle their laws.

We see other nations like New Zealand change their #GunLaws & end #MassShootings shootings almost overnight. Decades later, we haven't seen any changes to our slaughters.

Or nations like #Brazil , who moved quickly to sue #Bolsanoro & friends for damages to their buildings. Over 1K of their rioters were arrested the same day. We had to hunt ours down, cases are still pending, Trump is not charged.
